Appreciating different perspectives

Even when we disagree or have different perspectives, we can appreciate that people are trying to discover truth through some kind of process of reasoning based on facts with the objective of discovery and learning, etc. 

That is the charity element in the pursuit of clarity, charity and understanding.

And we assume the Baja proponents, like the M2Cers and SITH sayers everyone else, are well-intentioned and sincere. We are want to understand one another. It is more interesting and productive to seek to understand others rather than try to convince, persuade, etc.

But we still have to start with clarity, which requires separating Facts from the Assumptions, Inferences and Theories that lead to the overall Hypothesis being advocated.

The FAITH model leads to "no more contention."

To be clear: the Baja podcasts lack clarity. Instead of trying to discover truth and educate their viewers, they censored important historical sources, omitted others completely, used a series of logical fallacies, and generated confusion instead of clarity.

There is no need for them to engage in such tactics. 

While these tactics might work if they intend to "stir up a hornet's nest," they cause contention for no reason other than to promote the Baja theory at the expense of helping people make informed decisions.

Instead, the Baja proponents, like the M2Cers, SITH sayers, critics, and everyone else, owe it to their viewers and readers to lay out all the facts, including in this case all the accurate, authentic historical sources, and then explain why they reject what those sources say about Cumorah/Ramah in New York.

It is very simple.

The Baja proponents, like the M2Cers, should go through each of these sources and explain why they reject them. Then everyone can make informed decisions.

Related to that, they owe it to us to explain why they conflate the Cumorah issue with the broader issue of the non-Cumorah geography. They are two distinct issues and have been recognized as such from the outset.

I'm hoping Baja proponents re-do their discussion of Cumorah by using the FAITH model. But I've been waiting for years for the M2Cers to do this, and they still refuse.

Clarity is the hard part, apparently.

To repeat: the FAITH model leads to "no more contention."

So how about if everyone adopts that model of analysis instead of resorting to the type of censorship, misdirection, and sowing confusion that we have seen for so long?
